ROSEVILLE, MICHIGAN — June 19, 2026

A fugitive who had reportedly skipped bail was shot and injured during a violent confrontation with licensed bail bond agents Thursday afternoon in Roseville, Michigan.

According to the Roseville Police Department, the wanted man had failed to appear after posting bond on June 9. Bail agents later tracked the individual to a Marathon gas station located near 12 Mile Road and Interstate 94, where they observed him standing outside a vehicle. Authorities say the agents attempted to take the man into custody after positioning their vehicles to prevent his escape.

Investigators say the suspect re-entered his vehicle and attempted to flee. During the ensuing struggle, one bail bond agent became pinned between vehicles as the suspect accelerated in an apparent effort to force his way out.

Police reported that a second bail agent shattered the driver's side window and attempted to place the vehicle into park. A physical altercation followed between the agent and the suspect. During that struggle, the bail agent fired a single round, striking the suspect in the arm.

Despite being wounded, the suspect was successfully handcuffed by the agents before responding police officers arrived on scene.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment and remained in police custody. Authorities stated that all of the bail bond agents involved were properly licensed by the State of Michigan and possessed Michigan Concealed Pistol Licenses.

Detectives with the Roseville Police Department are expected to consult with the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office regarding any potential criminal charges stemming from the incident.
